The community is invited to a special presentation by the 6th Street Ministerial Alliance, at 3 p.m. Sunday, honoring Martin Luther King Jr. and Black History Month.
The event will feature Deartis Nickerson reciting Martin Luther King Jr.’s “I Have A Dream” speech.
The alliance’s five member churches will present a musical concert, featuring gospel choirs from Bethel Baptist Church, Hughes Chapel Christian, Methodist Episcopal Church, Mount Hermon Baptist Church, Mount Olive African Methodist Episcopal Church and House of Praise.
Sunday afternoon’s program is at Bethel Baptist Church, 705 S.E. 2nd Ave.
“We are asking the community at large to join us in fellowship,” said Bethel Baptist Church Pastor Charles Davis.
