According to crime reports for the past three years, Mineral Wells police responded to fewer violent crimes in 2011 than in the preceding two years.

Certain property crimes, especially burglaries, however, rose rather significantly.

The MWPD compiled its uniform crime report in conjunction with a Federal Bureau of Investigation program designed to differentiate statistics between seven distinct categories of criminal activity.
