Cool native will be part of summer tour

MINERAL WELLS — Cool native Casey James has performed his way into the "American Idol" top 10 following Thursday night's results on the popular Fox reality show.

On Tuesday James performed "The Power of Love"' by Huey Lews and the News as part of this week's theme of Billboard number one hits. See his performance here. See all of this week's performances by clicking this link.

Making the top 10 means James will be part of the summer "Idol" tour - a big-time paying gig for the 27-year-old Millsap High School graduate.

Leaving the show this week and missing out on the tour after garnering the least number of votes was Paige Myles.

That means joining James in the top ten and on this summer's tour is fellow Texan Tim Urban, Katie Stevens, Aaron Kelly, Crystal Bowersox, Michael Lynche, Andrew Garcia, Didi Benami, Lee DeWyze and Siobhan Magnus.

Next week's show theme is R&B, with Usher serving as the singers' mentor.
