An undercover sting operation conducted Thursday determined five of the 15 retailers involved allowed a minor to purchase alcohol.
The Mineral Wells Police Department, working with the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission, based their decision to perform the compliance check on a number of complaints from locals concerning alcohol availability to underaged consumers, MWPD Interim Chief Scott Mitcham said.
He said the minors used in the sting were supervised closely by officers during the operation.
