Local resident Charles Thompson, who recently addressed council concerning his belief the city charter should be updated to include a punishment for council members found in violation has been soliciting support for a new petition focused specifically on removing Place 1 councilman-at-large Rick Bennett from council.

When seeking a change to the charter, Thompson said, “I had several individuals ask me why I didn’t do a petition to remove [Bennett]. I told them I didn’t think it was appropriate at that time so I didn’t.”
