A federal grant made available to several local agencies allowed the Mineral Wells Police Department to install new computers and software into each of its patrol and detective vehicles.
The grant money was distributed through Tarleton State University, according to MWPD Patrol Lt. Randy Wright, which he said created easier access to the funds for smaller agencies.
He said the department received 19 computers and mounts with a software program that will make traffic stops more efficient.
