Area ISD elections
Early voting for the May 11 uniform election is underway and there are several other area school district elections in addition to Mineral Wells ISD, including Millsap, Palo Pinto, Gordon and Strawn ISDs.

Cinco de Mayo Celebration
On Saturday, 4-8 p.m., Our Lady of Lourdes Church will celebrate Cinco de Mayo. The event takes place at the Worship Center, located at 108 N.W. 4th Ave. in Mineral Wells and will feature an authentic enchilada Mexican meal, including tamales, taco, rice, beans and mexican cookies. Ice tea or lemonade will be included with the ticket price of $7 per adult plate and $4 for a child’s plate (12 and under). All proceeds will go toward the church parish hall.
