Recently, at their holiday dinner and monthly meeting, Woodmen of the World presented their annual award for Community Leadership.
This year's recipient was Michael Franklin.
Over the past year Mr. Franklin has been involved with many community nonprofit endeavors, to include a few, co-chairman for the Taste of Palo Pinto County Senior Center, board member/publicity chairman Noon Lions Club, board member of Tissue and Eye Bank of Texas, past chairman Mineral Wells Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors, member of the Chamber, Little League coach in Mineral Wells, vice president and fundraising chairman for Hope shelter (a battered women's and children's shelter here in Mineral Wells), board member and fundraising chairman for Palo Pinto Challenge (an organization that helps teach life skills to mentally challenged adults and children) and member of First United Methodist Church.
