Stoney LaRue coming to town

Feb. 2 event to raise funds for Brazos River Wounded Warriors Outdoors

From Staff Reports

He has graced stages in Palo Pinto County in recent years, and on Feb. 2, Red-Dirt musician Stoney LaRue and his band The Arsenals will entertain in Mineral Wells at a benefit for the Brazos River Wounded Warrior Outdoors.

Tickets for the BRWWO dinner-and-dance fundraiser are $75 each and include a barbeque dinner with all of the fixings, as well as all of the beer and soft drinks ticket holders can consume. Tickets are available at Ace Hardware, Cole's House of Flowers and the Mineral Wells Area Chamber of Commerce, all located in Mineral Wells.

The dinner and concert take place in the Palo Pinto County Livestock Association Expo building, located at 800 North Farm-to-Market Road 1821. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.

A live auction will include items such as a rifle, a vintage government-issue 1911 40-caliber pistol and guided hunt trips at various ranches. In addition, there will be various raffle items donated by businesses and individuals, including a Beast pump-up hunting blind

The event is held in conjunction with the second annual BRWWO hunt, which gives about 10 wounded veterans a chance to hunt for deer and hogs over a day and a half. The BRWWO provides lodging and meals for the veterans and coordinates the weekend's activities. Funds raised at the dinner-concert will help ensure more outdoor activities are available for wounded warriors in the Palo Pinto and Parker County area.

The organization has several different sponsorship levels available. For information on sponsorship, contact Mitch Bradshaw at (972) 408-6890 or Leslie Bradshaw at (469) 767-1287.
