Saturday is everyone’s last chance to attend Clark Gardens’ festival

By CHRIS AGEE

More than 4,000 people have visited so far this year, but Clark Gardens is hosting one last night of its Holiday Festival 2012 Saturday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

According to Carol Clark Montgomery, director of Clark Gardens, the botanical greens will be illuminated by thousands of lights and displays such as a nativity scene, gingerbread playhouse, cartoon characters ice skating on Oxbow Lake, and an elaborately decorated Clark Depot.

The festival is included in the admission price of Clark Gardens’ annual “Supper with Santa” event. During the event, children are allowed to interact with Santa Claus in a relaxed environment and a buffet dinner in a heated tent is also included.

The tent opens at 6 p.m. and dinner service begins at 6:30 p.m. Reservations are required and can be made online at clarkgardens.org or by calling the office at (940) 682-4856.

Admission is $25 per adult, $20 per child between 5 and 12, and $15 for children under 5.

Those attending just the festival can do so for $10 per carload.

Guests will be able to enjoy the lights while walking along the garden paths, take a free hayride and view model train displays.

Santa will be available to visit with all children in attendance from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
