With new Superintendent Gail Haterius presiding at her first Mineral Wells ISD school board meeting Tuesday might, trustees unanimously filled several key positions, with some newcomers and some familiar faces rising in administration.
Two principals will be leaving their current positions but not the district. Mineral Wells Junior High Principal Jay Walsworth was selected to fill the position of assistant superintendent of student services and human resources – roughly the position Linda Porter-Bradford held.
After trustees voted to approve each position, Haterius made a brief comment on each.
“Jay has been an administrator in the district for a long time and he’s the only administrator in the district who applied for this job,” Haterius announced.
