Mineral Wells police arrested a local man Tuesday in connection with the theft of two vehicles last month.
According to a police spokesperson, officers arrested Frank Horatio Withers III, 40, of Mineral Wells, was arrested and charged with one count of theft between $1,500 and $20,000 and one count of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
Reports indicate the first charge stemmed from an Oct. 21 incident in a local business parking lot.
Officers reported to the 600 block of Farm-to-Market Road 1821 North in response to the reported theft of a Yamaha scooter.
During the investigation, detectives identified Withers as a suspect and issued a warrant for his arrest.
Four days later, officers were dispatched to the 1600 block of South Oak Avenue in reference to a stolen 1987 GMC pickup.
Withers was among the three suspects detectives identified during their investigation of the incident.
The two other suspects, Marsha Ann Hawkins, 34, of Mineral Wells, and Darren Glen Dow, 40, of Mineral Wells, were arrested Oct. 25.
Investigators determined the pair sold several parts from the stolen vehicle at a local scrap metal business. The remainder of the truck was recovered and returned to its owner.
Both were charged with theft between $1,500 and $20,000 and held on $25,000 bond each. Hawkins and Dow were released on bond Oct. 27.
Withers was also arrested in connection to this crime, police said, explaining he is suspected of taking the truck. Officers charged him with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
As of Thursday, Withers remained in Palo Pinto County jail. His bond was set at $10,000 for each charge.
