PALO PINTO – A Palo Pinto County jury deliberated for just over two hours Wednesday before finding James Lyndon Davis, 38, of Mineral Wells, guilty of the 2010 sexual assault of a 15-year-old girl.
Prior to his trial, Davis elected to have his punishment, if applicable, decided by District Judge Jerry Ray instead of the jury.
“The judge did sentencing and sentenced him to 15 years with no fine,” District Attorney Mike Burns said.
The charge against Davis stems from a Nov. 3, 2010, incident in which he allegedly raped a girl while ostensibly giving her a ride home.
The victim, then 15, reported the incident to a guidance counselor at school the following day, according to reports, and authorities questioned Davis a short time later.
