PALO PINTO – Palo Pinto County Judge David Nicklas lauded the county’s historical commission Monday for being awarded the Texas Historical Commission’s 2011 Distinguished Service Award.
The THC award recognizes the Palo Pinto County Historical Commission for its work on substantial preservation efforts leading to a greater understanding of state and local history.
While presenting the recognition during commissioners court, Nicklas said the PPCHC had a “well-balanced preservation program” and the local historical commission “is working very hard in the county.”
