POSSUM KINGDOM – County officials released preliminary details Tuesday of the apparent accidental drowning death of a teenager in Possum Kingdom Lake.
According to Brazos River Authority Public Information Officer Judi Pierce, Conner Gage, 15, of North Richland Hills, was visiting friends at a residence in the 3100 block of Juniper Lane Friday evening.
She said reports indicate Gage and his friends were taking turns jumping into the lake from the second story of a dock. “Witnesses say he attempted to do a flip and landed on his stomach,” Pierce said, adding he reportedly “went under and didn’t resurface.”
She said it is unclear who reported in the incident but confirmed BRA and Possum Kingdom Emergency Medical Services personnel responded to a 911 call just before 8:30 p.m.
