Police say reckless driving preceded consecutive crashes

By CHRIS AGEE

County records showed Troy Wesley Moore, 24, of Mineral Wells, was in jail Thursday on suspicion of reckless driving and causing an accident involving damage to a vehicle.

Reports indicate the two misdemeanor counts stemmed from Moore’s involvement in two consecutive crashes along West Hubbard Street Wednesday afternoon, the second of which disabled the vehicle he was driving.

According to the reporting officer, Moore was traveling at a high rate of speed prior to the first collision and was weaving dangerously in and out of heavy traffic.

Around 3:40 p.m., Moore struck another motorist and drove away, ultimately crashing into a guardrail a short time later and his vehicle became immobilized.

The two occupants of the vehicle Moore initially struck were uninjured, according to reports, and the vehicle sustained minor rear bumper damage.

Moore was arrested at the scene by Mineral Wells police. Neither he or his passenger, Amber Nichole Moss, were taken to the hospital for treatment.

Moore’s bond had not yet been set as of Thursday afternoon.
