BRAZOS – Husband and wife members of the Brazos Volunteer Fire Department were hurt early Wednesday afternoon when a water tanker they were driving overturned on Farm-to-Market Road 129.
Kim Dorris, 43, was reportedly driving the southeast-bound tanker recently acquired by the department with her husband, Patrick Dorris, 44, riding as a passenger. Both were flown from the scene by separate medical helicopters and transported to a Fort Worth hospital. Their conditions could not be learned late Wednesday.
According to Palo Pinto County Fire Marshall Buddy Harwell and Brazos VFD Chief Richard Nichols the couple were taking the tanker to Mineral Wells to get decals for it and Patrick Dorris was using the trip as a training opportunity for his wife, letting her drive.
