A groundbreaking ceremony Thursday marked the first step in establishing a research and development center near the existing PECOFacet facility on Washington Avenue.
Members of the Perry family, which established Perry Equipment Company in 1939, executives from parent company CLARCOR, local government and business leaders and PECOFacet employees attended the event, which provided insight into the project.

PECOFacet President Scott Thompson explained the center is expected to be about 50,000 square feet and eventually create 35 additional jobs.
