In a report on Mineral Wells ISD students’ results on varied state accountability tests Mineral Wells High School juniors provided the high note.
Even though a new test began this year, students in grades 10 and 11 took the outgoing Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills this spring. This series of tests is being phased out and eventually replaced by the State of Texas Assessment of Academic Readiness, or STAAR.
In her report to the MWISD school board Tuesday, Curriculum Director Carolyn Cooper reported that 100 percent of MWHS 11th grade students passed the TAKS science test, bettering the state’s average of 98 percent.
