Petsense will be the local venue for this weekend’s National Pet Adopt-a-thon, when several area animal rescue organizations and the city shelter will try to find homes for stray and abandoned dogs and cats.
The event takes place Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., and the store has several family activities planned both days including games, door prizes, a bounce house and a fundraiser with hot dogs cooked by First Christian Church.
“We’re always happy to help the rescues that need homes,” said Petsense Store Manager Karon Corner. “Even for people who don’t need a pet, come out and enjoy the bounce house and eat a hot dog to help support the groups and all the hard work they do.”
