Sons of the American Legion replaces worn and torn U.S. flag

When Kyle Wilson drove by the Woman’s Club of Mineral Wells over the past several weeks, he noticed something he felt needed to be addressed.

A flag flying from a pole on the roof of the former post office had become torn and tattered and Wilson made it his mission to replace it.

He represented Sons of American Legion Post 75 Monday afternoon when he hung a brand new American flag to fly above the historic building.

Wilson, SAL past commander and current vice commander, said the old flag will be disposed of in a yearly ceremony conducted by the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
