MWHS Choir has sights set on NYC

By CHRIS AGEE

The Big Apple awaits the Mineral Wells High School Choir, which has been invited to sing at multiple locations within America's most populous city.

According to Kelly Bezio, president of the choir booster club, the only issue standing in the students' way is funding. She hopes a daylong festival planned for early next month will take care of that problem.

"They're very excited," she said, "and they know the fundraiser will help them get there."

According to Bezio, the first annual Day of Fun will feature a variety of events and concessions highlighted by an all-ages talent show.

"Whatever your talent is, we'll get you in there," she said, noting prominent members of the community are being added as judges for the event.

Additionally, there will be a number of attractions for attendees of all ages.

"We'll have vendors and Jumpin' for Joy is going to provide a bounce house, mechanical bull, dunking booth, train rides and all kinds of stuff," Bezio added.

A bracelet purchased at the front gate will grant attendees access to all rides and attractions and tickets for concessions will also be available.

Vendors will sell their goods independently, she noted.

The event is set to begin at 10 a.m. April 6 and will continue until 7 p.m.

According to Bezio, the deadline to sign up as a vendor or contestant is April 1.

For more information about registering for the talent contest or renting vendor space call Bezio at (940) 445-3057.
