A disagreement between two men Friday resulted in one being fatally stabbed in the chest, left lying in the middle of a busy highway road, and the other charged with his death.
City and county authorities responded about 2:40 p.m. to a reported stabbing in the 4300 block of U.S. Highway 180 East Friday afternoon. They found the victim lying in the eastbound lanes of the roadway and the suspect still at the scene.
According to Pct. 5 Palo Pinto County Constable Gary Morris, the victim, Damon Desdunes, 27, died shortly after being transported to Palo Pinto General Hospital.
Morris took Jose Luis Ramos, 40, into custody at the scene. Ramos was taken to the Mineral Wells Police Department, questioned and later charged with murder, according to a Mineral Wells police spokesperson. His bond information was not available as of Saturday.
