Thieves busy this past week

By CHRIS AGEE

Mineral Wells Police reported several property crimes occurring over the past week.

Police responded to a reported theft Friday in the 1300 block of S.E. 19th Street. According to reports, a tenant left the property with two dog houses, two air-conditioning units, and a number of “T” posts belonging to the complainant. Police said the items had an estimated combined value of $2,500.

According to an unauthorized use of a motor vehicle report filed Friday in the 200 block of S. Oak Avenue, a complainant left a 1998 Chevrolet sedan at a location on Wright Road for repairs and later received notice from another individual the vehicle had been stripped and sold for parts. Police said the complainant returned to the location and the vehicle was not there.

Another complainant, in the 600 block of Morningside Drive, reported a vehicle burglary Saturday, police said. According to the report, someone entered the unlocked vehicle and removed a cup containing an unspecified amount of cash.

In another incident, registration paperwork and insurance information were taken from an unlocked vehicle in the 1300 block of S.E. 13th Street, according to a burglary report filed Sunday.

Police responded to a burglary report Monday on S-Tec Way. According to reports, a radar detector, tuner and garage door opener, valued at a combined $700, were taken from an unlocked vehicle.

A burglary report filed Tuesday in the 800 block of Harvey Road indicated employees reporting to work that morning found an office in disarray and determined a television, refrigerator, computer equipment, two firearms and football memorabilia were missing. Police said entry was likely made through a rear door.
