Friends of allegedly murdered 1st Sgt. Kevin Brown recently joined fellow soldiers and members of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2399 to pay tribute to him.
A stone monument was unveiled Thursday afternoon on the VFW grounds in memory of Brown, coinciding with addresses from those who knew him both professionally and personally.
Brown was found dead, having been shot in the face and wrapped in plastic bags, at his Pleasant Valley home in May.
Shortly thereafter, authorities arrested his wife, Sarah Brown, for suspicion of murder. A grand jury has since indicted her for the crime. No trial date is set as of Thursday afternoon.
The ceremony began with remarks from Staff Sgt. Lonnie Fuller, who said Brown represented many things to many people.
