The Mineral Wells Area Chamber of Commerce is reporting a steady stream of ‘Shop Local & Win!’ cards turned in with still a month to go.
As of Tuesday afternoon, chamber officials said 244 cards were turned in, representing $73,200 in local sales.
The annual award-winning program, in its fourth year, has 51 participating local merchants where cards can be obtained. Each card represents $300 in spending and when completed the cards are dropped off at the chamber, 511 E. Hubbard St., for entry into the Dec. 24 drawing where three shopping spree winners will be pulled from the hopper. The shopping spree prizes total $500, $750 and $1,500 that will be good to spend however you want at any of the participating merchants. There are also weekly $25 shopping spree winners for those who get cards turned in early.
Simply make a minimum $5 purchase and ask the clerk to stamp your card up to the total amount and do that until the card is complete. You can turn in as many cards as you can fill up to increase your winning odds.
The names of the participating merchants are on the backs of the cards, or you can see the list at the Chamber’s website at mineralwellstx.com.
The deadline to drop off a card for entry is noon on Dec. 24. For more information, contact the chamber at (940) 325-2557.
