City council members voted unanimously to approve specific-use permits for the operation of two off-premise liquor retailers.
The city’s Planning and Zoning Commission unanimously approved both permits at its Aug. 6 meeting, leading to the approval needed by council Tuesday evening.
Robert Woodring requested a permit to establish a package store at 2805 U.S. Highway 180 West, which was formerly the location of Nancy’s Italian Restaurant.
Anthony Alvarez and Daniel Johnson, representing AND LLC, are interested in opening a package store at 4514 U.S. Highway 180 East, the former site of G&D Pool and Spa Inc.
Based on the recommendation of the P&Z Commission, city council granted both parties a specific use permit, provided they comply with conditions and regulations thereof.
Each party must next apply for final approval from the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission prior to opening the stores.
