The Superbowl is over, officially marking the end of football season in America, right? No?
For those who still want to get more football, the Texas United Football League is gearing up and Mineral Wells and Ram Stadium are the new home to the Texas Bullets.
The Bullets will face their first opponent Saturday, defending TUFL champs Texas Longhorns, in the team's first 2013 preseason game.
The Bullets beat the Longhorns in their 2012 preseason meeting and the teams did not play again in the regular season. The team hopes the community will come out to see how they stack up this year.
There are several locals on the 2013 Bullets' roster, including Scott Aaron, Daniel Gray, Terrance Lawson, Johnathan Mendez, Eddie Davila, José Gutierrez and Colton Taylor.
Kick off is 7:30 p.m. in Ram Stadium. Tickets are $8 for adults and $4 for children under 12 and senior citizens.
In a semi-pro football league including teams from Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas and Oklahoma, the Bullets are excited to be entering their sixth year of competition.
The team promotes a family friendly environment at games and at practice, while providing a superior product on the field by requiring hard work and dedication from its players, according to its website www.txbullets.com. Playing their first five years in Weatherford, the organization is excited about their new partnership with the City of Mineral Wells.
