FUZZY’S to the rescue

Downtown local eatery supporting local arts and artists with space

By LIBBY CLUETT

The local Fuzzy's Taco Shop has come to the rescue of the Mineral Wells Art Association after hearing they would be without a space in 2013.

Until the MWAA finds a new home, which they are trying to do, Fuzzy's will provide the club with a place to paint and conduct monthly meetings.

“We were desperate needing a place and they stepped up and made an offer,” said MWAA Past President Mike Wells.

“We appreciate the local folks and corporate for the offer,” he noted. “They have made us a wonderful offer to use their south dining room rent and utility free until we can find a more permanent home.”

Wells added that the club will continue to paint semi-weekly on Tuesdays, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., and Thursday afternoons, 1-4 p.m.

This could give the club a new way to recruit new members, who can now bring a sketch pad, order a meal and exercise their right brain.

The club also meets monthly at 6 p.m. on the third Tuesday of each month and welcomes prospective members and interested citizens. Fuzzy's is located at 306 N. Oak Ave. in Mineral Wells.
