Lorraine McFarland, 89, of Mineral Wells, was bitten multiple times by several dogs as she took her daily walk Wednesday, her daughter said.
Myra Johnson said McFarland was strolling through her neighborhood and noticed a lone dog sitting in a vacant lot on S.W. 3rd Avenue around 9:30 a.m.
“She’s walked this way before and never seen a dog,” Johnson said. “She didn’t think anything of it and kept walking.
Shortly after spotting the dog, she said, McFarland realized several other dogs were in pursuit of her.
“She said she got past the dog and all of a sudden there were four or five of them,” Johnson said. “They were chihuahuas and they attacked her.”
