It might not have felt like Christmas, but downtown looked like it on Saturday afternoon

— It was sunny and 83 degrees Saturday and the mild weather, a big turnout and a long line of entries made the afternoon’s Mineral Wells Merchants Association’s annual Downtown Christmas Parade another success.

The judges reviewed each entry as it passed by their platform and decided on the following winners (awards will be ready for pickup Wednesday at Kwik Kar, 2104 E. Hubbard St., and see more parade photographs on page 4):



Overall

• First place – Brazos Pointe Church ($100).

• Second place – Jumpin’ For Joy ($75).

• Third place – Girl Scouts Troop 8147 ($50).



Education

• First place – Mineral Wells High School Ram Band

• Second place – MWHS Wranglerettes

• Third place – MWHS cheerleaders



Religious

• First place – Brazos Pointe Church

• Second place – First Christian Church

• Third place – Palo Pinto Cowboy Church



Civic and individuals
