A Poetic Evening

Thursday evening was rather poetic for those attending Mineral Wells Heritage Association's meeting in the Little Rock Schoolhouse. Local author Gerald Warfield (pictured) read numerous poems penned by local authors.

The poets whose works he read were: Dorothy Lee Hansen, Beth Henry Watson, Evanell Ator Davis, Jared Stone, Lela Jane Abernathy, Troy Stone Sr., Mary Elizabeth Gray, Troy Stone Jr., Myron Crawford and David Owens.

“We had a good crowd there,” said Michele Nations. “Gerald did a great job of putting the listeners into the heart of the poems through his PowerPoint presentation and reading.”

“Poetry should be exciting,” Warfield said. “It was once the entertainment of kings and commoners.”
