A task force Thursday commemorated the official launch of a countywide children’s advocacy center.
Two months after dozens of locals attended a meeting to learn about the program, members of the multidisciplinary task force voted on key aspects of the center.
Leaders of the project then signed a memorandum of understanding to be sent to the Child Protective Services regional director.
District Attorney Mike Burns led Thursday’s meeting, explaining the group’s actions will mark the beginning of a 14-month implementation process.
