PERRIN - On Tuesday evening, family and friends of Shonda Townsend planted a live oak tree, donated by Shire's Garden Center, outside Perrin Elementary School.
Tuesday would have been Shonda's 22nd birthday.
Shonda, the mother of a now 4-year-old son, was 19 when she disappeared around midnight July 5, 2010. Her car was found in southeast Mineral Wells. Her skeletal remains were found in a field last fall southwest of Mineral Wells.
There have been no arrests. There is a total reward of $21,000 offered for information leading to the arrest and indictment of the person or persons responsible. Information can be provided anonymously and anytime by calling Crime Stoppers at (940) 325-0000.
