What started as a misdemeanor theft of a case of beer Friday afternoon escalated to what might end up being felony robbery.
The incident occurred around 4 p.m. at the “Red Top” Tommy’s Store, located at 4766 Farm-to-Market Road 1195 when a male suspect reportedly went into the store’s rest room and came out through the cooler, where he grabbed a case of beer. As the suspect drove off, he reportedly ran over and injured a male store employee, who was attempting to stop the suspect’s progress.
