Mineral Wells ISD trustees heard from three architectural firms Tuesday night to see which might best lead the district through a facility needs assessment to determine the condition of buildings and infrastructure and help guide the district with long-range planning.
Architectural firms PBK, VLK Architects, and WRA Architects presented their qualifications to fulfill a facility needs assessment.
Facility consulting is the beginning step toward a construction project and bond, but MWISD Superintendent Gail Haterius said a facilities’ study does not necessarily result in a bond.
She said an assessment gives school districts extended plans for all buildings, as well as measuring the current and future needs for heating, ventilation and air conditioning, or HVAC, technology, parking lots and roof tops.
