In 1710, English writer, Johnathan Swift wrote in “Journal to Stella” a pair of comments regarding weather. One was written in October, when he called the weather “Plaguy” and cheapened it to a value of “twelvepenny.” The other, written in November, told us that “’Tis very warm weather when one’s in bed.’”
With our present weather being a bit chilly, and with our current bedding growing a bit old and somewhat flattened, we chose to put Mr. Swift to the test and provide ourselves with a new bed as a shared “Christmas Gift” to ourselves. Although we have purchased beds in some profusion during our long time together, we had not considered the turn of events which would follow the occurrence of this latest purchase.
