Let’s go with the flow

Our Senior Center was underwater on Monday. For no apparent reason, a geyser suddenly shot up from the water fountain on the front wall onto the floor beyond, and we couldn’t get it to stop. People scrambled to find mops and towels, and grabbed pots from the kitchen to hold under the arching stream. By the time the city maintenance guys got here to take the cooler apart, the entire dining room was flooded.

Thankfully there were no casualties except for the water fountain itself, which still lies in pieces. People now are laughing as they recall how frantically everyone splashed about trying to contain the shooting water. It must have looked like something straight from a Keystone Cops movie.
