It was one of those alarm-didn’t-go-off, can’t-find-matching-socks, the-dog-ate-my-homework kind of mornings.
As we tried to get our four school-age kids out the door, everyone was in a snit. Tempers flared and criticism snapped back and forth. Finally trudging through the backyard to the school building across the road, my daughter and her brothers all wore sour expressions to match their black moods.
