A family of seven can generate lots of dirty laundry. By the time I finished sorting colors and whites one morning, I had six piles lined up on the living room floor.
I scooped up the first bundle and was loading it into the washing machine when 3-year-old Joshua tugged on my pants leg. “Mama, I’m a helper,” he beamed. “Come see.”
I followed him into the living room to find that he had picked up all the dirty clothes and stuffed them back into the hampers. Proudly surveying his handiwork, Joshua said, “See, I helped you.”
