Church new to community, but not members

By CHRIS AGEE | cagee@mineralwellsindex.com

A Hudson Oaks church with about 2,000 weekly attendees is furthering its mission to establish a permanent campus in Mineral Wells with a one-time local service.

According to Lead Pastor Scott Crenshaw, New River Fellowship staff is still looking for a suitable site for a large group of locals currently making the drive to the church’s main building.

“We’ve had a few doors close, but that’s fine,” he said. “We’re committed to Mineral Wells and committed to come into Mineral Wells.”

The special service, called “A Night with New River,” is set for Oct. 21 at 6 p.m. and will be held at the Mineral Wells High School Auditorium.

Crenshaw said the service will help introduce the community to New River’s style of worship.

He said he will be “really speaking a word of hope inside of Mineral Wells and trying to give them a taste to say this is what New River is like.”
