In 2004 a vision of Steve Monson came into being. People from different Christian denominations joined forces to take part in an event called "Operation Jesus."
In teams of two or three, participants went door to door, personally handing out tracts produced by the Billy Graham Evangelical Association and praying with people in over 40,000 residences throughout Erath County.
Monson, founder and coordinator of the event, said, "The 2012 theme will be the same as the prior seven years – going out into the community with a smile, a tract, and a prayer ... or STP."
