Nearly 30 individuals gathered near the gazebo in Zappe Park Thursday at noon for a local observance of the National Day of Prayer.
Pastor Guy Weathers of Indian Creek Baptist Church officiated the informal gathering, which began with City Manager Lance Howerton presenting Weathers with a proclamation identifying the day as “A Day of Prayer” for Mineral Wells.
Recognizing seven unique segments of the population, Weathers invited members of each group to stand in the center of the group as he prayed for them.
