Reflections on puppy love

I fell in love a couple of weeks ago. Shhhh … don’t tell Raf, or, rather, don’t mention that I said it. You see, he already knows, and he doesn’t approve one little bit!

When we were in Midland to visit my cousins, I met Marley. He was about the most gorgeous thing I had ever seen with those handsome brown eyes and brown and white hair. He stood about 10 inches off the ground, and his tale was a plume.

Oh, you might have guessed by now, Marley isn’t a fellow in the human sense, Marley is a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel! He is named for the dog in the movie “Marley and Me,” but he is no huge yellow lab, although he heart is absolutely as big as Marley the lab’s was.

  Recently a friend of mine and her husband drove to New Hampshire to purchase a summer home. Sunday came and, as they had seen an Anglican church close by, they decided to attend. Instead, they ended up going to a Bible church down the street. As they drove up to the church, she turned to her husband and said, “I surely hope they believe in the same Bible we do!”
