As most of you know, I am a member of Mineral Wells’ Ralph Ripley Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). If you are interested in patriotism, history or genealogy, this might be a place for some of you ladies. It is an inspiration to attend the meetings each month.
Right now I am assisting a neighbor in proving her ancestry back to the American Revolution, and thus becoming a member of DAR. It’s really quite exciting to discover information about an ancestor. To find that they were a part of making our country free from England. Of making our country a “democracy in a republic.” America wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for those patriots who fought and died to bring about the American dream.
