“Spieglein, Spieglein, an der Wand / Wer ist die Schönste im ganzen Land?” or “Magic mirror on the wall, who is the fairest of them all?”

Have you noticed a media movement toward producing more entertainment based on faerie tales? It amazes me that so many adult-oriented media events, both television and movies, are centering around those lovable stories we grew up with. These movies and shows seem to be directed toward people of a “certain age” like me because, frankly, I don’t believe the many young parents of today are actually even reading faerie tales to their children … if they are reading to them at all, that is!

  • Reflections on Patience

I had a person whom I don’t know well at all tell me what an impatient person I am. My goodness, I didn’t realize it showed so much to those who do not know me very well; but, of course, she is right. I am. They say patience is a virtue. It is, but, sadly, it isn’t one of mine.
