Public invited to salute veterans
PERRIN – Perrin-Whitt Elementary students extend an invitation to all in the community to attend their Tribute to Veterans on Nov. 9 at 9 a.m. in the elementary school gym.

Raising funds for retired Jack County educators
PERRIN – The Jack County Retired School Employees Association will be holding a barbecue fundraiser on Oct. 26 at the Jacksboro high school cafeteria from 5-7 p.m.

Local church gets new concrete handicap ramps
PERRIN – We received close to two inches of rain last weekend. It was a nice, slow, go take a nap type rain. We are also enjoying the cooler weather.

Fish fry cooks up successful fundraiser
PERRIN – At the Whitt-Adell annual fish fry they had a good turnout and the winner of the ASUS laptop computer was Roy McClendon and John Cotton won the 42-inch LCD TV .

Two families welcome home new additions
PERRIN – The cooler weather has been so nice, we’re leaving the doors and windows open and the fresh air has really freshened the house.

Perrin High student council members named
PERRIN – The 2012-13 Perrin High School student council members are president Jadyn Holt, vice president Kaitlyn Salazar, Mick Williams, Jaycee Staggs, Leslie Burwell, Hailey Bryan, Makaila Brooks, Kirsten Barbare and Crystal Crisp.

Perrin-Whitt welcomed 356 first-day students
PERRIN – The enrollment at the Perrin-Whitt school was 356 on Monday. There were 174 students in elementary and 182 in junior and senior high schools.

New school year begins Monday
PERRIN – The first day of school at Perrin-Whitt CISD is Monday.
