PERRIN – Please watch out for snakes. Brenda Anderson recently killed a very large copperhead on the junior high building front porch. These warm days are fooling reptiles into coming out of hibernation. Please be watchful and stay away from any tall grass.

Graham Dennis Stowell was born April 9 at 7:54 a.m. at Sky Ridge Medical Center in Lonetree, Colo. Graham weighed 5 lbs. 11 oz. and was 18.5” long. His parents are Dennis and Sherri-Jo (Keener) Stowell of Aurora, Colo. Sherri-Jo is originally from Perrin.
For the third year in a row, Jake Hall has advanced to the State UIL meet.
There was a Howard and Mary (Nash) Johnson family reunion held at the Sparks Spring Fellowship hall.
Claude Renfro, 83, of Weatherford passed away Thursday, April 11. The service was last Monday at Bluebonnet Hills.
It’s time to lose an hour of sleep; on Sunday, Daylight Saving Time begins, so turn your clocks forward one hour Saturday night, or you’ll be late for Sunday services.
The Senior Driver Safety class will be held on Thursday, March 7, at the Jacksboro Senior Citizens building in Jacksboro. The class will begin at 8 a.m. and go until noon. To enroll or for more information, call Doris King at (940) 567-5431.
Congratulations to Jack County Spelling Bee winner Kent Withaeger. Kent is in sixth grade at Perrin-Whitt Elementary. He won the Jack County spelling bee on Wednesday, Feb. 13, by spelling the word “pretzel.” Kent will represent Jack County on March 20 at the Regional Spelling Bee, held at Texas Christian University.
Perrin-Whitt Consolidated ISD will have six teams competing in the Trinity Valley North Central Regional DI Tournament on March 2 at Marcus High School, in Flower Mound, Texas.
The varsity basketball girls will be going on to the playoffs. I’m not sure when or where they will be playing. Their final regular game will be Tuesday, at Poolville. The boy’s varsity will play their last game Feb. 8 at Ranger.
