PERRIN – Congratulations to the Perrin girls varsity basketball team for winning first place at the Gorman tournament last week. That’s two weeks in a row that the team has won tournaments. Good going to these young ladies.
The regular Christmas holidays begins Dec. 22 until Jan. 7, when school resumes.
All high school basketball teams will play at home Dec. 21 against Nocona, with the games beginning at 2 p.m. Their final game of the year will be Tuesday, Dec. 31, at home against Windthorst. Games begin at 10 a.m.
The Perrin Junior High basketball teams will not have a game until the new year on Jan. 7, at home against Ranger.
On Jan. 8, there will be a bake sale in the foyer of the gym during the basketball game against Santo. The junior class is trying to raise money for the junior-senior prom. Donations of baked goods or cash are welcome. Contact any junior class member or call the school office.
Dorothy Cranford wanted to let everyone know that the box in the Perrin post office was filled up three times with plenty of stuffed animals for Mamaw’s House. Mamaw’s House received volunteer help packing up the boxes from Jonathan Brumfield, Haylee and Kaycee Fowler and exchange student Fran. Thanks to everyone who helped out through this effort of caring for our rural kids.
Thought for the week: When we throw out the Christmas tree we should be especially careful not to throw out the Christmas spirit with it.
