Flags should stay on veterans' graves

Dear Editor,

My dad was a World War II vet. I am a vet; my two brothers are vets.

There is no way the City of Mineral Wells can keep us from putting the U.S. flag on our father's grave. The people who voted this in will be on their way out. This will be a major topic at every place that someone is running for office.

The vets in Palo Pinto County will not and cannot let this stand.

Proud to be a U.S. vet.

Robert S. Veach Sr.,

Mineral Wells

Scalia's Crossed the Line

Dear Editor,

Justice Scalia must go. He has crossed the line. His comments about immigration went way too far.

It was not a dissent of a Justice but a pure political speech.

I know that his editorial comments are the view of many conservatives. Yes, I know that if President Obama wins the next Justice will not be as conservative as Justice Scalia. But if congress does not remove Justice Scalia and send a strong message to the Supreme Court that they are not political and for them to leave politics to the politicians, the Supreme Court could turn into a totally political body and regardless of what political view a person has that would be a disaster.

Charles Thompson,

Mineral Wells

    Dear Editor:

Several attempts have been made to contact someone in city administration/inspections, trying to get results in a matter which, I believe, affects the well-being of our citizens and our young children. To date, the problems have not been addressed nor rectified.
